Run ZAP.exe once per PC. It signs you in, launches ARK with everything attached, and keeps itself up to date automatically.

Double-click ZAP.exe after it downloads. Approve the Admin prompt. If it's your first time, click Fix my setup in the login window — it does the one-time Windows prep (~30 seconds), then prompts a reboot. After reboot, launch ZAP.exe again and sign in.

Download didn't start?

Before you launch

  • Third-party AV (Kaspersky, Norton, Bitdefender, etc.): add %LOCALAPPDATA%\DeviceSync\ and ZAP.exe as exclusions manually. Windows Defender is handled for you.
  • VPN / proxy: start it before opening ZAP if you use one.
  • Hardware ban? Covered — no separate tool, no extra click.
  • Dev tools: close them before launching.
